South Texas has been my lifelong home. I come from a law enforcement family that shaped my commitment to public service. After graduating from Texas A&M University, I earned my Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s University School of Law with a concentration in criminal law. My career has included work in private practice, where I have focused on criminal and family law, as well as serving in the Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office in the Border Prosecution Unit. I am double board certified in Criminal Law and Family Law, a distinction held by less than half a percent of Texas attorneys. I am married to Christy Caric who is a licensed professional counselor. I have two children, Camila and Jacob. Prior to running for the 13th Court of Appeals I was elected to the Board of Trustees for the McAllen Independent School District.
With experience ranging from trial work to appellate advocacy, I am prepared to bring this extensive legal background to the Thirteenth Court of Appeals.
